In 1930 Youshisuke Aikawa founded a holding company named Nippon Sangyo translated into Nippon Industries. This was shortened the name Nissan. During its controlled steel foundries and auto parts businesses creation Nissan. Aikawa chose Preview Nissan Motor Company.
Nissan Motor Company began its life from a totally different name. Dat name was derived from an acronym for partner companies at the time. The original members were appointed Kenjiro Den, Rokuro Aoyama, Takeuchi Meitaro gave DAT Motorcar Co name. In 1918, the company changed its name to Kwaishinsha Motorcar Co., and in 1925 the name was again changed back to Motorcar Co. Dat Dat Motorcar Co which was based in Tokyo, and then merged with Jitsuyo Jidosha Co. Ltd. in 1926 to become Dat Automobile Manufacturing Co. Ltd. 1931 saw the first use of real names when Datson Dat Motorcar Co. came out with its first smaller vehicle. Datson name translates as "Son of DAT" was used until Nissan took control of DAT Motorcar Co. in 1934.
