Understanding the Food Pyramid for Children


In 2005, the Ministry of Agriculture of the United States issued a new plan the food pyramid. Children and adults have more to follow the same horizontally sectioned food pyramid. Adults now have their own pyramid but it is also a new food pyramid for children. The new food pyramid for kids basically implies that kids have different needs and diet than adults. Children need to follow the specifications of the new food pyramid for children so they can grow healthy and strong.


The food pyramid for children is telling children and parents that children should eat a variety of foods from all food groups. A healthy meal as the food pyramid for the child, so it should contain lean meat, beans, nuts, fish, milk, dairy products, fruits, grains, vegetables and some fat.

The food pyramid for the child, however, does not tell the children to eat everything in the same quantities. Old age council still owns eating more grains, fruits and vegetables than other types of food. Parents should also note that some foods in each category should not be consumed in large quantities. The best way to encourage children to follow the food pyramid for children's needs is a good example. Parents and other family members should commit to eating healthy foods only. The new food pyramid for children is also telling us that children should have lots of time to exercise. Good physical play, for example, it is advisable for children to stay healthy. Parents can also encourage children to follow the new food pyramid of the council to exercise the child is a good example and participate in physical activities as well. The food pyramid for children also suggests, however, that life and healthy eating should be taught, slowly but surely.
