Global Agriculture must become more Sustainable

Sustainable agriculture is a question that many environmental experts have begun to reflect in recent years. The reason it is essential because food is something that people need for their physical survival on this planet and agriculture deals directly with how to produce. However, there is a misconception that sustainable agriculture is only to feed the expanding population today and how to produce enough food to meet the nutritional needs of this. The difference here lies in the central objective of this branch of science of the environment. It is a much broader concept that is concerned with responding to the demand for food in the future. It is important to continue to produce enough food today, but it is imperative that substantial factor in the degradation of agricultural soil fertility and depletion of natural resources, especially soil and water. So far we have three areas that agriculture is important regarding: meet the demand for food today, ensuring that future generations will be able to produce enough food given the ever present deterioration soil and water, and to take control on the ground and water condition.

It is imperative to make agriculture more sustainable if we are to preserve the planet and eliminate the possibility of hunger in the future. The creation of a sustainable agricultural system is actually much harder than developing the concept in theory. It presents a real dilemma, simply because many interrelated factors, macro and microeconomic influences the quality and the shape of a product manufactured by the system. So we must consider the complex economic and political environment while theorizing on sustainable agricultural systems. As a result, farmers are forced to produce products that people are willing to buy and which are safe to eat, we compete with other producers and act in the political and legal limits. Similarly, sustainable agriculture creates a framework that farmers should act, in other words, a set of rules to follow. Each year, the total area of agricultural land gradually decreases because land is being eaten by rapid development. At present the United States can produce more food than necessary and this could probably continue for several decades, but if radical steps are not taken food supply in the global economy will decline. One solution to this problem would be government support in the form of lower taxes for farmers. This would help people stay active longer and focus more on environmental problems. To make them more sustainable agricultural farmers should use natural resources more efficiently. Some advanced agricultural techniques should be used to maintain soil fertility in a certain acceptable level and prevent damage. They also need to control the amount of fertilizer used in the production process, therefore, safe to eat and healthy products.
