independent films that have won major awards and lapped at the center of the attention
of advertising. As usual, there were a lot of films with Hollywood
stars and big film production budgets attached to those who have received much
publicity. But there were also some small independent films that managed to win
prizes in one of the three major film festivals of the world.

Many big studios and stars disguised as independent filmmakers to enter their films in Toronto for advertising at the beginning of the season in the hope that Oscar buzz is created on the film and the stars together.
