Throughout the
series of recent articles, we discussed the role of "label" in Gmail;
like
creating labels - just like folders on other e-mail programs - can help you
organize and sort e-mail, giving you the opportunity to do the important things
is right on your fingerprints. We
talked about setting up and creating labels in Gmail. Now
it's time to get those email messages to organize. Remember, as we
said in the previous article, you can choose to "hide" or
"show" tag on your own Gmail page, to make sure that you have chosen
to show what you really need duty.
Since
"caught" you can drag the message through one of the labels displayed
on the left side of the window, including both built-in Gmail labels or any
label you have created yourself. Remember,
Gmail calls "conversations"
email because, as you answer back and fourth with the sender of the original
e-mail, all those individual messages are "stacked" on top of each
other continuously "conversation. "Once
you get the box on its label (the text line in the left column), simply release
the mouse button, and the conversation will be moved to that label.
Now, if you have multiple email conversations you want
to move on a separate label, you can with the small icon next to the message -
the check box. If
you have not used before, you can use the check box to select multiple
messages, and apply any action that will affect all flagged messages. You
can remove a large number of messages so that, or move them to a label /
record, the regular inbox. Just
use your mouse to click (again, left single mouse for the PC people) in the
small checkbox for each message. Thus,
when using the method of click and drag to speak, all the recorded messages
will be moved. You
will know that you are moving more than one message because the box
"mobile chat" will display the number of messages to move. Check
four messages and drag them to a label; see "Moving 4
conversations." Furthermore,
this method of checking several messages for a "mass action" is very
useful to identify and get rid of spam. Scan
your inbox every morning and check the messages that are clearly spam, then
click the "Report Spam" button at the top of the message list. This
will move all messages checked the spam label and automatically delete after 30
days. It
will also help Gmail learn what you consider spam, and therefore do a better
job of automatically filter spam messages in the future.
