On the way, the river passes the former camp of Trapper Nelson, a sort of mythical figure in these parts since he lived a solitary life, while quietly acquiring hundreds of acres of land. In the park miles of white, Shell Rock paths for walkers and cyclists and monthly full moon bike ride is maintained. If desired, the price "Canoe Outfitters" will rent a boat, then picking at Jonathan Dickinson State Park and return to the park.

Each year the Loxahatchee Battlefield Memorial is held sponsored by the Loxahatchee Battlefield preservationists and Black Historical Research Project in Florida that focuses on black Seminole Indians. The festival takes place under massive oaks and native Battlefield preservationists always bring exhibits and relics and, of course, shoot a gun in the air. Children always love.
