The Philadelphia Phillies may
have the best managers and technicians world lined up to work with the team. No matter
how you align, however, the Phillies have a great group of coaches who are this
year. The list includes coaching manual manager Charlie hit Milt Thompson, rich
coach Dubee pitching, bench coach Pete Mackanin, first base coach Davey Lopes,
based third coach Sam Perlozzo coach relievers Mick Billmeyer, collector
relievers Tim Gradoville, Director Medical Services Dr. . Michael Ciccotti, MD,
trainer Scott Sheridan, assistant athletic trainer, Mark Anderson, ATC and
conditioning coordinator Dong Lien.
The list includes pitchers BISENIUS Joe, Joe Blanton,
Andrew Carpenter, Carlos Carrasco, Clay Condrey, Chad Durbin, Adam Eaton,
Sergio Escalona, Scott Eyre, Cole Hamels, JA Happ, Kyle Kendrick, Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson,
Robert Mosebach Jamie Moyer, Brett Myers, Drew Naylor, Scott Nestor, Chan Ho
Park, JC Romero and Michael Zagurski; catchers Chris Coste, Lou Marson, Joel
Naughton, Ronny Paulino and Carlos Ruiz; infielders Eric Bruntlett, Greg Dobbs,
Pedro Feliz, Brad Harman, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley; and
outfielders Raul Ibanez, Geoff Jenkins, John Mayberry, Matt Stairs, Shane
Victorino and Jayson Werth.
So where you have a large group of coaches and
trainers and managers with 40 people list? Well, if you're the Phillies, you
get everything packed and ready to go and you head down to Clearwater, Florida.
Bright House Field will host the Phillies this year for spring training and
Grapefruit League season 2009, which officially begins with a charity match on
February 26 against the Blue Jays.
The games continue with a schedule that includes games
against the Rays, Canada in an exhibition game, the United States in an
exhibition game, Tigers, Reds, Braves, Pirates, Cardinals, Reds again, Blue
Jays again, Twins, Yankees back to back in two games, the Red Sox, Blue Jays
star and a third time in March.
As time winds down, local events are winding up to the Phillies as well, including offering the opportunity to review the cold weather.
