Kia KV7 Concept Reveals Gras Minivan Design Thinking

If you think minivans are rather "blah", you are certainly not in the minority. These traditional family carriers are boxy, more designed to transport people and goods to give buyers a reason to swoon over his face.

Design Language

Until recently, Kia has never been considered a leader in the design, with most models bland, boxy and hide in the shadow of his brother Korean Hyundai. All that changed in the 2000s when the design studio in California Kia was started to design and build some of the most stylish cars on the road. A good example of this new language of design thinking can be found on the Kia Soul, its urban utility vehicle.

The soul has shown us that Kia does have a soul. Since the beginnings of the other car Kia models received the freedom of similar design, which makes it much more pleasant and modern than the previous model vehicles.

Kia KV7

At auto shows in North America in 2011, Kia brings a certain style to force people to rethink what a minivan should look like. Dubbed the Kia KV7, this seven-passenger minivan has a smug grill, 20-inch wheels, wing doors and a family activity center for rear passengers. The logic defying attribute to the Kia KV7 are its gull-wing doors. Open doors mean invading the space of neighboring cars not by much, but enough to make a difference. Probably the KV7 is built, it will be proposed sliding doors-can not imagine many mothers feel comfortable with children traveling in the rear with butterfly doors ready to appear on command.

Cabin services

Inside, the Kia KV7 features four custom swivel seats, including the driver's seat - not practical when you're driving, but be a fun thing to do when the vehicle is stopped and you are ready to have some family time. The rear corner "mini-lounge" with a capacity of three is to other passengers; no word if an option bar will be available!

Other features of the cabin includes a generous requirement of storage space, wi-fi capability, sliding panel, navigation and infotainment system.

The importance of performance

Under the hood, the Kia KV7 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter GDI, is expected to produce 285 horsepower. Combined with an automatic six-speed transmission, this vehicle could offer a good balance between performance and fuel economy, something minivan buyers cherish.

The Kia KV7 go into production? In a market dominated by the Dodge Grand Caravan, Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Town & Country, Kia KV7 definitely brings something different to the table, emphasizing the Kia's desire to remain relevant in this ever important segment vehicles.
