Hawaii evoke specific feelings
for most people. Just the mention of the word "Hawaii", and
begin to imagine the golden sandy beaches lined with swaying palm trees, clear
turquoise waters beckoning you cool and exotic dancers with the hips moving so
fast that literally shake the palm trees! For people who have tried all these
things and more, Hawaii conjures dollar signs! Hawaii can certainly be one of
the travel destinations of the world's most expensive, but it should not be. We
were tourists in Hawaii, and now we are residents of Hawaii. Thanks to our
local travels and experiences, we came with some fantastic ways to visit the
Aloha state without breaking the bank ... Read on and we'll be on your way to
your dream vacation in no time!
The most expensive part of your trip will probably be
the ticket. The first way to save money and travel to Hawaii on a budget is to
book your flight in the most cost effective manner. Generally, this means avoid
buying tickets directly from the airline! It is rare that someone would find
these special fares that airlines offer directly to other cities, simply
because Hawaii is so far from any other state and is more expensive for
airlines to fly here than anywhere else in America. Sites that specialize in last minute offers trips,
such as Travelocity, can offer huge savings! The trick is to
buy at the right time. Booked the airfare to Hawaii ten days before the date of travel for US $
450, which was a bargain! A word of warning here: airline
reservations through last minute travel sites are not for the faint of heart!
You are more likely to find the cheapest air ticket between 4 and 10 days of
your planned travel time, so be prepared! Of course, be sure to seek the help
of a travel agent. They buy wholesale airfares, and you can save some money.
The second most expensive part of your Hawaii vacation is the hotel rooms, but should not be. Even if you do not book all inclusive, here's a word to the wise: Watch hotels when planning your vacation. If you provide a vacation that involves the room service at the pool, and the hotel's shops, choose another destination. You can do this anywhere in the United States for much cheaper. You will not find paradise in your hotel room. Culture is in the community, not a hotel suite. You absolutely book, welcoming, clean convenient, but do not worry about the rest! rental cars, luaus, and tourist services! Rental cars have their place in a Hawaiian vacation, but you will not need a rental car every day you're here. If you are staying in Hawaii for 5 days, suggest you rent a car for two days. After the return of the rental car, you can get anywhere on the island by the traffic of the city for $ 2 round trip. You will not only save money to avoid parking fees and rental fees, but it is an environmentally friendly way to enjoy your holiday. Chances are, once you get off the plane, you will be greeted with colorful brochures on glossy paper, representing luaus and exotic tourist services. If this is your first time on the island, you probably really want to visit a luau. Joking aside, be prepared to spend a lot of money at any Luau! What is a Luau, you may be wondering? Luaus being shown today are not the old parties and festivities. Modern Luau is a buffet with local dishes and entertainment ranging from silly traditional hula dance for the entertainment good. Answer luaus supports our local economy, as well as almost all locally owned and operated, and that is always a plus! Tourist services are a dime a dozen these islands, and they can be extremely beneficial if chosen politely. First, tourism services are not all created equal. If you take a tour, I would recommend a small group of tourists. Many outside the company there are 100 people at a time. Also, if you pay the money, choose a tour service that is unique; a visiting service, which is really part of the culture of the islands. The only way to learn about the real Hawaii is not to cause several million dollar properties, but going on cultural sites and learn the real story. Cultural history tours of Hawaii, what, and we are the only tourist service that offers this. Eat at local restaurants mom-and-pop or local chains (chains prevent the continent to eat in); go to farmers' markets nearby and buy fresh fruits and vegetables for snacks; avoid kitsch souvenirs that end before you go home, and opt for postcards and chocolate covered macadamia nuts to take home as gifts. Postcards are nostalgic and endearing. Chocolate covered macadamia nuts are cheap but delicious ... who will complain about that ???
So summarize how Hawaii vacation on a budget:
Airfares budget
Hotel budget
Car limited time
City traffic
Local small business
Restaurants mom-and-pop
No memories of junk!
