Delta King and sister ship the Delta Queen, switched between Sacramento and San Francisco from 1927 to 1940. The journey of ten-and-a-half hour drink included, shows, games and dining room. During World War II, they were painted gray and used for various military tasks ranging from floating barracks to the hospital. Riverboats are no longer useful in the Bay Area since the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, so the King languished in odd functions Delta until he suffered his final negligence is poured and left half submerged in San Francisco Bay. In 1984, King Delta was lifted from the mud and tides to be restored to its former glory. It soon became the beautiful boat that now claims the title of the only hotel in Old Sacramento.

There are 44 rooms available in the three main platforms of King Delta. They were made more spacious than the original 88 rooms. Since the boat has been completely renovated, we expected a modern hotel in a historic boat hull, but we were pleasantly surprised that built and furnished by the appropriate age. The room was clean, quite large and with original floors with curved hull of the boat and a tank-on-the-wall old toilet. Outside our room was a balcony deck shared overlooking the Sacramento River. In the morning we enjoyed a full breakfast at the Pilothouse restaurant and retired to a chair placemat on our terrace balcony. We watched the birds playing and feeding along the river while planning the timing of our active days. Although we were in one of the smaller rooms, the Delta King has several larger options, including "Captain Quarters," which includes the home of the original rudder and boat consumes two stories bow. We were glad we had booked a room with a river view of the city display option seen most of the Old Bag dock.

The Delta King Hotel include a bar & grill and a stylish restaurant. Upon arrival, we enjoyed a Delta & Grill bar glass of wine to help recover our 6 hour drive to Sacramento. I
nterior spaces and exterior is available, both with stunning views up the Sacramento River. The Pilothouse restaurant covers the entire width of the boat and has a stained glass window wall with accents on each side. We enjoyed the fixed price meal options for shows that frequent the night aboard the boat. The meals were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The service was outstanding, which was comparable with the whole boat. After dinner, we went to the boat bottom to see a game. Delta King has two small theaters below where it organizes dinners murder mystery plays and put the local theater group, SacraMelo. We chose the game, which was a musical pun Peter Pan. The room was designed for children and adults. Theatrical presentations are available Friday and Saturday night with some Sunday matinees. The Delta King also has performances Thursday through Saturday night bar. On Fridays and Saturdays the king Delta offers wine events, including a school where you can become a wine connoisseur.
