Polo for All?

The sport of kings - and the kings and princes of honor. Polo public image makes you feel that it is for "other" people that you read in the glossy publications, which upper circle, that most stallion, which is all about the class. The public image does not reflect the facts - even if the image is used for sports to ensure the sponsorship of major events. The United States leads the direction of polo for people - opens its arms to all those with a passion - and it is a passion bordering on obsession - which afflicts those who slip into this is the gravitational force. In the United States there are clubs scattered throughout the country, from the country club just plain dirt! There is even a special variety of polo, which requires only one pony to participate, reducing the initial financial outlay. Unfortunately, the UK is still suffering from the old perceptions. If you go in the world famous Cartier match at Guards Polo Club, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the old guard, old money and celebrities are still the law. The truth is that many players based Cartier polo renounce in favor of the Queens Cup and the Gold Cup at Cowdray, as played polo in these other tournaments tend to be for the purist pole. If you are interested in playing polo in the UK, let me give you a word of warning - they say you only get the broken pole or in a box - from my experience, is rarely broken stops anyone, even if persistent joint has been known to break the spell. Located in the beautiful classic English landscape and managed by an Australian, Will Keen. The club is intended to start the average capacity pole of players - which covers all but the most talented players. There are many target (beginner) bass tournaments and the club encourages senior members to share their experience with beginners. Polo is unique in that beginner has the potential to play in a team with a world class player. The community is relatively small. The best players travel the world, after the summer and are available to play teams composed by a single weekend tournament or a week at a price, of course! This is the equivalent of a Sunday league football player, running with David Beckham.
Another interesting thing about polo, in addition to the higher goal, teams are not static; players may be playing for one team one week and the next opposition. The four-person team usually consists of a boss amateur, professional and two amateur players usually friends or club members. A boss is usually the person who pays the registration fee for the tournament and takes legal fees. All tournaments do not require the intervention of a paid, some British clubs as Kirtlington, professional tournaments managed to encourage all levels of competition, with minimal financial outlay. The club encourages local businesses such as the site sponsor Kirtlington, Life Insurance Pro Life to sponsor tournaments or fun events for the mutual benefit club, business and of course the local charities.

Start by contacting one of the many clusters of schools connected to the club of choice. Beware of schools that seem willing to reveal the price! In the early days, a standard riding hat and rubber boots are sufficient - do not be tempted to rush out and buy all the polo specialized equipment until their first chukkas appear. Students can progress rapidly to educational chukkas in some lessons.

In Kirtlington, as with most of the country polo clubs in the UK, it is likely to function for players from all walks of life; perhaps a landed gent, a nurse, a driver, an elderly person, a farmer, a student, a life insurance broker, a nerd, a famous musician (for some reason drummers excel in sport), a plastic surgeon, a journalist.
