Everything About The Pancreas You Should Know
The pancreas is a very important organ of the body. The pancreas has 4 parts, the head, neck, body and tail.
Location
It is shaped walking stick and located in L1-L2 vertebra, both in the compartments below and above colic colic. It lies at an oblique angle from right to left at an angle. The head is surrounded by the duodenum, the upper part, downward and horizontal. The pancreas is located anterior to the inferior and posterior vena cava of the stomach. The splenic artery is just above the upper edge of the pancreas, while the splenic vein passes near the rear boundary where it joins the inferior mesenteric vein just in front of the renal vein.
Structure
The pancreas is a lobulated and is finely solid consistency. It consists of 80% exocrine acini with "scattered islets, which are part of the endocrine system 2%. The islands are located mainly in the pancreatic tail. Then joined bile duct forming hepatopancreas vacuum bulb through the papilla into the proximal duodenum at the junction of the foregut and midgut. The bottom of the head and uncinate process is drained by the accessory pancreatic duct that drains through the minor papilla, located two centimeters above the papilla. The hepatopancreas bulb is surrounded by the sphincter of Oddi ampullary sphincter muscles is the flow mechanism in the regulation of behavior.
Blood supply
The pancreatic blood supply comes mainly from branches of the splenic artery obsequious neck, body and tail. The branches include the dorsal pancreatic artery, the lower and upper pancreatic arteries. The head is ensured by the upper and lower pancreaticduodenal arteries that causing celiac and mesenteric artery, respectively. The veins that drain the pancreas drain into the splenic vein, upper and lower veins pancreaticduodenal.
Lymphatic drainage
At the head of the pancreas, lymph drainage follows the pancreaticduodenal arteries and eventually drain into the celiac and mesenteric lymph nodes. The drains of the body we spleen, are found in the celiac ganglia.
Innervation
Branches vagus reach the pancreas by the vagal trunk and celiac plexus posterior, which stimulate exocrine function. Vasoconstrictors sympathetic fibers originate at T6-T10 and pass through the celiac plexus.
