SMB Technology Trends For 2013 Reviews ~ Many of the trends we have discussed in 2011, and saw in 2012, were almost exactly right. Technology, such as mobility, endpoints style tablets, cloud computing, virtualization and big data in 2012 were large. In early November, research vice president, Robert P. Anderson discuss new technology trends with a specific focus on the SME space and brought some interesting statistics. According to Anderson, "the entire global IT spending, 44% is in the SMB category." (Anderson, 2012) noted that Gartner classifies organizations with 1,000 employees or less as a small or medium business, a break at the end of the group of companies with 100 or fewer employees and small businesses as companies 101-999 middle market. These small businesses need agile to share and gain acceptance for mobile technologies are critical to making this happen. With the increasing use of mobile devices, the strong increase in headache management, especially if you look at companies with more than 20 to 30 employees. This is where a rapid growth in mobile devices called management (MDM) is making great strides and will continue in 2013.

If employees use their personal devices for work functions, additional concerns arise these devices not controlled, the company owned equipment. What if an employee leaves the organization? What if the device is lost? MDM enables organizations to manage employee-owned and / or equipment owned by the company. Functionality includes, but is not limited to GPS tracking, remote locking and remote data wipe business from the end point without disturbing the private data such as photographs.
Compounding the problem is something called "big data," which is essentially large amounts of data (structured and unstructured), and it is difficult to organize and reporting both spreadsheets or database software standard. Other trends that are here to stay its cloud computing and virtualization. Somehow, the cloud will be the method of choice for application delivery and access to many small and medium enterprises. The ability to take advantage of these companies once alone technologies, without the development of redundant data centers or purchasing expensive hardware and software, the cloud is a very attractive option.
Virtualization accelerate this change of the shares in a co-location space possible. This part of the virtualization platform provides a simple and easy user experience to check whether the selected endpoint. An organization can customize the desktop experience for all users, thus reducing the need for a full PC clients to run business applications. When several employees to work remotely, can be difficult to document, workflow, or other applications sync outputs. Thus, collaborative applications useful as a growth area for SMEs.
