Leukemia Cancer Blood ~ Leukemia is a cancer of the blood cells. In the case of leukemia, bone marrow enter a large number of abnormal white blood cells (leukemia cells) to generate. These abnormal cells by the number of healthy cells gradually leads to anemia, bleeding, and infections. The exact cause of leukemia is not known, but risk factors identified. Types of leukemia

RISK FACTORS


Tobacco
This increases the risk of AML.


Last chemotherapy or radiation for another cancer makes you a high risk of cancer candidate cervix.

Exposure to high levels of radiation.

Family history.
Exposure to chemicals
Exposure to chemicals such as benzene can cause AML. Genetic disorders.

Diseases Blood Myelodysplastic syndrome and certain other diseases of the blood increases the risk of AML.

Human T cell leukemia virus type I (HTLV-I) increases the risk of a rare T cell leukemia type.

TREATMENT


The treatment is based on a number of factors such as the type of leukemia, the overall health and age.

Chemotherapy
This is the main form of treatment for leukemia. The drugs used to kill cancer cells.


Radiotherapy
X-rays or other high-energy radiation used to destroy leukemia cells and stops their growth.

Stem cell transplant
The purpose of this type of procedure destroys the cells in the bone marrow, including leukemia cells and replaced with normal healthy cells.
