The final selection was announced at the 117th IOC Session held at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore on July 6, 2005. London won the right to host the 2012 Olympics, with 54 votes against 50 votes of France. The 2012 Summer Olympic program features 26 sports and a total of 39 disciplines.
