Baltimore, located on the east coast of the United States, is the largest city in the state of Maryland, and is best known as Charm City. The national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, was composed in Baltimore by Francis Scott Key. Following the cessation of bombing the American flag flying high vision motivated him to compose the Star-Spangled Banner poem, which eventually became a song and the national anthem.
