Affiliate Tip to Clickable Links for AOL Users


You know how your newsletter subscribers have AOL addresses? AOL has about 24 million subscribers, it is likely that many of your subscribers are getting their emails on an AOL account.


Lsts of opt-in, and twenty-five percent of subscribers to my mailing list have been using AOL. The current version of AOL (9.0) is doing a good job of reading HTML email, but the email text AOL is still a problem.

Most email clients will make a clickable URL, but not AOL email. Instead, programmers AOL have created a system that recognizes the HTML tags in the text of e-mail messages and formats these tags as they would appear in a browser.

If you simply include a URL in your text without formatting, AOL subscribers will have to cut and paste the address into the browser window. The solution is to post your links in two formats: a base URL and a special link text (in HTML is simply that you will put in an e-mail text) that is clickable in email text messages AOL.
