Honda Motors Company Ltd. Is a Japanese automotive manufacturer based registered as a public multinational company, currently based in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Honda was founded by Soichiro Honda, 24 September 1948. Soichiro was a mechanic and a self-taught engineer first, he worked in a Japanese tuning shop called "Art Shokai."
Soichiro, first worked on the development of a piston that could sell Toyota, but his first attempt was rejected by the Japanese automaker. Gasoline shortages due to World War II further worsened the situation of Honda's business. Because of this, Honda has not been able to sell their cars.
Despite the initial failure, Honda decided he would try to join a small motorbike. The idea of Honda would eventually lead to the invention of the motorcycle. Because of the stability of sales and the growing demand for its products, Honda had emerged as the largest producer of motorcycles in 1964.
Honda then ventured into the development of its own version of the car company. It was in August 1963 when Honda started production of its first car. Two months later, Honda was able to produce its first car, known as the S500 sports car. S500 is a drive vehicle on the rear wheel driven by chains, like a motorcycle.
After a few decades, Honda has expanded its production to other products. Currently, Honda makes products such as automobiles, motorcycles and power equipment. Honda opened its first store in the United States in 1959. After a few years, sales of Honda in the United States increased and demand for the products they sell have increased, which led to further expansion. Currently, the American Honda Motor Company is currently based in Torrance, California. This regional division of Japanese automaker is now in charge of the production and distribution of Honda vehicles across the United States. In Canada, sales of the entire company and production efforts are managed by Honda Canada Inc., which is based at its head office in Markham, Ontario.
