American Films Centered in Cars

Because cars are so important for the American story? People have traveled across America for the first time by the horse, then by train and finally by car.
As modes of transportation, cars have unique characteristics that make them much more attractive than many other methods of travel:

* Cars in the United States are accessible. Almost everyone can afford to own a car.
* Motor vehicles that people travel everywhere and whenever they want.
It is a personal space, allowing people to travel in comfort and solitude.
* Vehicles confer the status of their owners. , Fast sports cars, family vans or luxury sedans all create an image in our minds of drivers.

Cars have truly become an extension of yourself. No wonder the Americans were quick to embrace the car as a symbol of freedom and choice.
The films are as much a part of American culture than cars. A look at American movies show how entangled in cars movies really are.

Many films resonate with viewers because of the cars they have. In "American Graffiti" (1973) A 1932 Ford coupe, a Chevrolet Impala 1955 Chevy 1958 Mercury coupe 1951 and 1956 Ford Thunderbird are all part of a special unit of night out with a group of friends from school . The film also represents another strong element of American car culture, the pilot of the adolescent.
The ability to drive and express their identity through their car anchored cars as a symbol of freedom for teens. This freedom teenager was documented in the film after film, "American Graffiti" just being a good example. Car films may be classified by the role of the car plays in the film. There are movies that, while not really on cars, contain vivid scenes where cars are essential to the story. "Heart Like a Wheel" (1983) on the driver of the car Shirley Muldowney race, adds romance to the mix. In a more recent film, "Drive," starring Ryan Gosling, the main character is a driver, he drives stunt cars in movies and cars getaway in flights.

To truly be considered a car film, however, the plot should revolve around cars in it. Some car movie not to be missed are:

* "Le Mans" (1971), with a Porsche 917 and a Ferrari 512S (and Steve McQueen as a driver in the American Le Mans racing).
* "Gone in 60 Seconds" (1974), a film based on the premise that the thief to steal the car has forty-eight cars in one week, all the beautiful cars, upscale.
* "Mad Max" (1979), a dark look to the future, where people chase in hot rods supercharged, watching the last remaining gasoline.
* "Days of Thunder" (1990), in which Tom Cruise arrives to show your driving chops like a NASCAR driver.
* Taking the idea even further, in the animated film "Cars" (2006), the vehicles are the characters.

Of course, there is no shortage of films or cars in movies. A film car symbolizes freedom, rebellion and youth, as well as a car itself does. What could be more American than to fill your car with family or friends and going to the drive-in movie theater, another creation of the culture of the car? Watch the movie from the comfort and privacy of your car. If you are lucky, there will be a car movie classic in the making.
